What happens during an acupuncture session?

To determine which acupuncture treatment is best for you, I will ask you questions about your symptoms, habits and lifestyle and pay particular attention to:

- the parts of your body which are painful, soft, tense, cold or hot.

- The shape, coating and color of your tongue.

- The strength, rhythm and quality of your wrist pulse.

During an acupuncture treatment, very fine needles are inserted at precise points on your body. You will experience little discomfort or none at all as you lay with the needles for approximately 25 minutes. This is the perfect time to relax and enjoy the parasympathetic state, which promotes a positive body reaction to acupuncture.

Sometimes, other forms of stimulation are used on acupuncture points. These include :

- heat (moxibustion), ideal to strengthen the immune system or tonify the body

- suction (cupping), ideal to promote circulation and detox

- Electromagnetic energy pulses, for maximum efficiency in stimulating the acupuncture points

The first acupuncture session can last up to 60 minutes, after that it usually lasts 45 minutes all in all.

The practice is quiet and peaceful, allowing you to fully enjoy the session without being disturbed by noise or an endless flow of customers, as I make sure to keep space between appointments.
