Cycle issues and Fertility support

Ladies first, please scroll down for male reproductive issues

Menstruation

Women can experience a variety of hormonal problems throughout their lives. These generally begin in adolescence with the onset of menstruation (or not in case of amenorrhea).

Young women sometimes end up living for years with very painful, hemorrhagic or irregular periods as if they were the norm. NOT GOOD.

Conversely, some women have periods with very little blood or experience spotting (discharge between cycles).

Mood disorders may be present, such as aggression or depression, sometimes so severe that they impact on daily life and relationships.

Too many women say they've given up and live with their cycle problems, but it doesn't have to be that way. Acupuncture can make a real difference in terms of regulation, pain management and mood stabilization.

Infertility

According to the WHO, over 17% of the adult population suffers from infertility during their lifetime. Sometimes the causes are known (hormonal, mechanical), sometimes medical tests provide no answers. The problem of infertility is a major one, and can create tension within the couple as well as problems of self-esteem.

Whether it's as part of a balancing act, in case of repeated miscarriages or in conjunction with MAP/IVF protocols, acupuncture is recognized as an effective aid and is increasingly recommended by doctors.

Cysts, fibroids and endometriosis

These pathologies, which can be responsible for pain and infertility among other things, are covered by specific TCM diagnoses and are treated according to TCM principles once the imbalances have been identified. Specific symptoms are sometimes associated, such as migraines, which can be relieved by acupuncture sessions.

Libido and erectile dysfunction:

At any age a man can suffer from libido problems or erectile dysfunction.

Erectile dysfunction is experienced by at least 50% of men between the ages of 40 and 70.

Symptoms can include:

-Only occasionally being able to get an erection before sexual intercourse

-Possibility of having an erection before intercourse, but inability to maintain it during intercourse

-Complete inability to achieve an erection

-Requires significant stimulation to maintain an erection

They may or may not be accompanied by the need to urinate frequently, especially at night, or by feelings of cold, tiredness, depression, stress or anger.

Once any mechanical problem has been ruled out, turning to acupuncture can revitalize the 'yang', promote better circulation and reduce stress, resulting in an improvement in the symptoms in question.

Infertility

In the case of a proven fertility problem (low sperm count or sperm abnormality), research shows that acupuncture combined with ongoing treatment can lead to an improvement, often accompanied by dietary and lifestyle advice. Overall, between 40 and 50% of cases of infertility are caused by male problems and affect 7% of men.
